Jake Carruthers is a 2027 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Hollywood,Fl, FL who attends Chaminade Madonna College Prep. Long, lean and athletic frame with a high waist and tons of physical projection remaining. Recorded a 7.00 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary third baseman with aggressive footwork into the fielding process, works downhill through the baseball and displayed a clean funnel out in-front. Quick release with plenty of arm strength across the diamond with good carry up to 84 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a coiled leg lift into balance and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for most of his outing and topped out at 81 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with developing command of the strike zone, mixed in a slower, more deliberate breaking ball with gradual depth as his secondary offering, will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional advancement of his repertoire. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed off his athleticism and arm strength. Fielded properly off his front foot, gathered cleanly and maintained momentum into release. Recorded arm strength up to 89 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that showcased plenty. of intent and bat speed throughout. Incorporates good lower half movements to create torque, leverages the baseball out in-front and turns tightly in space to generate easy carry and backspin. Whole field approach with gap-to-gap power potential. Athletic, immensely projectable prospect with huge upside on both sides of the baseball. Excellent Student.
