2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Johnny Chen See is a 2026 C/1B, OF, UT with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Terra Environmental Research Institute. Medium, athletic build with obvious strength throughout the frame. Recorded a 7.91 sixty-yard dash. Showed huge upside on the mound, has a quick tempo, side steps to a belt high lift. Medium arm swing to a three-quarters slot and present arm speed. Fastball, up to 86 mph (2108 RPM) has heavy ride through the mitt with slight arm-side life. Curveball, up to 74 mph (1807 RPM) had true 12-6 shape with sharp break and tons of depth. Breaking ball is a true swing and miss offering. Also flashed a changeup, up to 72 mph (1605 RPM) with fade. Primary catcher, starts on one knee, natural receiver, quick transfer, athletic getting out of the crouch, fluid movements in the lower half, gets the ball out of his hand quick with easy arm speed. Recorded throws up to 73 mph and a pop-time of 2.00. Left-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open front side and hands tight to the body in the stance. Hips drift a little bit but showed the ability to impact the ball hard to the pull-side on occasion. Solid foundation to continue building upon in the coming years. Recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph. Named to 2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Top Prospect List.
