Fernando Baez is a 2023 RHP/C/IF with a 5-7 153 lb. frame from Spring Hill, FL who attends Hudson. Smaller frame with a lean and athletic build. Ran a 7.57 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, has a quick delivery with good tempo to how he works, stays in line with short movements, uses a quick arm through a compact arm action and high release to create some cut to the fastball. Works well to the arm side and showed feel for a tight slider with some depth and short horizontal bite that was effective in getting weak contact. Also worked out in the infield and behind the plate, shows athleticism and good intent at both positions with a bit better arm strength from the infield as he releases on time and with sound actions. Righthanded hitter, sets up even and open, swings off the back side and works the other way with line drive contact that flashed some jump when driven to the middle of the field. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
