2022 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Anthony Gerbasio is a 2025 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from West Babylon, NY who attends West Babylon Senior. Recorded a 7.89 second sixty-yard dash time. Slender, high-waisted frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Primary first baseman with some agile footwork around the bag, a clean funnel out in front and some quickness on his turns. Moves well laterally to either side and exhibits accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 75 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works from a controlled, repeatable delivery with a slightly lower then belt high leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-70s for most of his outing and topped out at 74 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with ability to command both sides of the plate with his fastball, shows ability to sink the pitch to the bottom of the strike zone. Mixed in a developing 12-6 curveball that flashed gradual depth and was best when thrown with conviction. Will continue to improve with additional strength and refinements mechanically. Also took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout, showcasing proper footwork and clean transfer into the throwing process. Recorded arm strength up to 74 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Hands driven swing with middle-of-the field approach and consistent bat-to-ball skills. Displayed occasional line drive impact to the pullside of the field that will continue to develop as he adds strength. Excellent Student.
