Gage Race is a 2023 SS/RHP, IF, OF, UT with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Parma, MI who attends Northwest. He ran a 7.82 second sixty. A primary shortstop he shows a younger build with room to fill as he continues to grow and mature. On the infield he showed some solid athleticism with decent hand actions, has some twitch to his movements and will only get better with strength. On the mound he works from a three-quarters arm slot with a long loose arm action, works slightly across his body with a fastball that sat 71 -74 mph as he filled up the zone early in counts, mixed in a curveball in the low 60's with 11-5 shape and some depth into the zone. At the plate he starts slightly open from the right side, has a lot of movement pre swing and at times messes up his timing but will develop more power with added strength to the frame. Very good student.
