Jaymal Bonilla is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-0 148 lb. frame from Isabela, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Recorded a 7.29 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with room to add more strength as he matures. Primary left-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch, repeating well with good pace and tempo. Works from a three-quarters to low three-quarters arm slot, producing heavy arm-side run and sink to his fastball. Fastball worked in the low-80s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 84 mph in this look. Confident strike thrower that used three-pitch mix effectively, getting ahead with fastball early and mixing in two secondary offerings that show potential for swings-and-misses. Curveball is a 1-7 shaped with good spin traits and tightness to it, while flashing good depth and late plane. Well-replicated change may be further along, showing plus depth and late tumble to garner awkward swings throughout his outing. Secondary outfielder with athletic actions into the fielding process, fielding properly out in front and maintaining momentum into release. Displayed clean gather into a crow-hop, while recording arm strength up to 83 mph with accuracy and carry. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and minimal weight shift into contact. Incorporates good usage of his lower half, getting on plane early and flashing the ability to lift the baseball to the pull-side. Implores consistent swing path with easy hand speed and feel for the barrel that produced numerous line drives throughout. Solid present hit tool with consistency and some power potential when on time. Excellent Student.
