Hideto Atsumi is a 2023 2B/RHP, 3B, MIF, OF, UT with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Bellevue. He has a medium frame with an athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.80 seconds. Primary second baseman that has quick feet and moves well to both sides of his body. He has soft hands and a good feel for the glove. He has nice, quick transfers and makes consistently accurate throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch. He uses an above the belt leg kick and does a nice job of pushing down the mound, working in line with the plate. Uses tall-and-fall back leg mechanics. Has a shorter arm action and fires from a high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball is straight and he was able to locate it in the zone consistently. He also showed advanced feel for his off speed pitches. His curveball was his go to secondary pitch, showing nice depth. His slider has nice horizontal movement and gives a different look than the curveball does. His changeup shows nice depth. Left-handed hitter that starts with an even base that is slightly open with low hands. He has a direct swing path to the ball and is able to create nice back spin on line drives in the gap. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
