Riley Giebelhausen is a 2022 1B/C, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Algonquin, IL who attends Huntley. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Primary first baseman with high energy footwork while working to and rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Released from a three-quarters arm slot creating accurate carry to the bag at 73 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean, smooth footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels baseball well and working through exchange efficiently. Clean arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 70 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a linear barrel plane through extension. Looks to let the ball travel to a deep hitting position and work to the middle of the field. Displayed developing feel for the barrel but flashed solid bat speed when delivery hands and barrel to contact on time. Good student as well.
