Richard Bukowski is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Bayonne, NJ who attends Bayonne. Recorded a 5.29 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, well-proportioned frame with athletic look and plenty of projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher that works from a full windup delivery with high, coiled leg lift and good usage of his lower half down the slope. Creates deception due to slight hip turn, hiding the ball effectively to make his fastball seem a tick higher from a velocity perspective. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s throughout his outing, topping at 79 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Fastball flashed good downhill plane with some natural arm-side run to it, while being effectively located to both sides of the plate. Mixed in developing curveball that held its 11-5 shape consistently and showed good late depth through the zone. Secondary first baseman, fields out in front, good footwork around the bag with athletic actions and accurate throws. Recorded arm strength up to 79 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, open stance with flat, tight hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates small hover trigger and bat waggle for timing, creating some separation with the lower half to start his swing. Contact oriented stroke with handsy swing path and developing feel for the barrel. Mostly pull-side intent with occasional line drive to the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and maturity. Solid defensive prospect with potential to make improvements to his swing. Excellent Student.
