Chase Leonard is a 2023 C/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Newington, CT who attends Newington. Young, square shouldered frame with some present strength proportioned to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran an 8.04 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate in drills, receives the ball out front, compact arm action on throws, gains short ground and can implement additional lower half into actions, arm strength and carry will continue to develop, repeats actions. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; loads hands back at start of swing, keeps them inside the ball in swing. Works to the middle and pull side parts of the field, creates some lift in swing path, bat speed will continue to develop, repeats path through zone. Good student.
