David Wyatt is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 192 lb. frame from Colchester, CT who attends Norwich Technical. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, side step moving into a leg lift up to belt with deliberate tempo, short arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point; lands slightly closed with strike foot but helps create cut action to fastball that topped out at 72 mph. Will continue to develop a consistent release point, pitched to contact and shows comfort to pitch backwards. Curveball shows 1-7 shape and shows a feel for it, can go to it early in count. Shorter arm action on throws from first base, shows carry when on top and can drop slot to make the throw, developing footwork off the bag; similar release on throws in outfield, fields ball close to body, quicker transfer and release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Timing components to swing but creates extension out front, short finish through point of contact. Opens front side early at times, shows carry off the barrel when squared and on time, comfort hitting to pull side. Very good student.
