2021 Great Lakes Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Connor Schwalbach is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Fort Thomas, KY who attends Highlands. Solid athletic build with good length and room to get stronger. Hand pump delivery with a compact arm action in back that hides the ball very well, 3/4's arm slot, some energy at release but he repeats his mechanics well. Worked mostly in the upper 70's with his fastball, topped out at 80 mph, showed the ability to work to both sides of the plate with intent and also elevate his fastball over barrels. Showed good feel for landing his curveball for strikes and was able to pitch backwards at times. Also throws a nice change up and profiles as a starter with three pitches he can throw for strikes. 7.96 runner in the sixty, had solid defensive actions at first base. Left handed hitter, big hanging leg lift trigger to start his swing, lift and pull power approach with some strength at contact when he's on time. Good student.
