Alex Mooring is a 2023 LHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Durham, NC who attends C E Jordan. Nice young pitcher's build with plenty of room to get stronger. Simple hand drop delivery with a high leg raise and good direction to the plate, athletic delivery that he repeats well, extended 3/4's arm slot. Fastball worked up to 81 mph and has been up to 84 mph this summer, runs and dives hard at the plate, fastball velocity plays up with ease of release and life. Change up was an excellent pitch with arm speed, feel and life. Slider was sharp and tight and showed the ability to add and subtract with the velo and shape. Polished pitcher who throws nothing straight and only lacks present velocity. Good student. Named to the Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
