Jay Hernandez is a 2027 SS/2B, MIF with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from Rex, GA who attends Creekside Christian. Medium frame with strength in the lower half and a ton of time to continue growing. 8.74 runner in the 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with clean, athletic actions on the dirt. Glided to both sides in the workout portion, fields the ball out front with a clean funnel and has good arm strength across. Gets rid of the ball quick with carry and accuracy to the bag. Recorded throws up to 70 mph. Made great plays in game throughout the event. Has all the actions to stick at shortstop long term. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and his hands set high. Hanging leg lift trigger gets the swing started, whips the barrel through the zone hard and generates advanced bat speed. Hit the ball hard to both sides in the round of batting practice. Will only get better as he continues to get stronger. Recorded an exit velocity of 73 mph. Named to 2022 13u/14u Fall Georgia Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
