Charles Smith is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Peachtree Corners, GA who attends Norcross. Primary catcher with a medium frame and strong lower-half build. Recorded a 6.96 second 60-yard dash time. Pretty good receiver with low stance working under the ball. Gains some ground on throws with a pop time of 2.14. Accurate around the bag with throws up to 70 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with leg lift to high waist from stretch only starting point. High front side 3/4 slot delivery getting down the slope. Fastball up to 81 mph and curveball in the high-60s from a deceptive cross-body delivery. Switch-hitter with even base and low-hands set start from the left-side. Knee-lift trigger short stride and high back elbow slot which works best through the middle as a left-handed hitter. Slightly open narrow base and higher hands from the right-side. Bat speed through the zone with a short stride as a right-handed hitter with impact to the pull side. Excellent student.
