Giancarlo Calderon is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Orange Park, FL who attends Trinity Christian Academy/FL virtual school. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, stays back on the ball and can incorporate additional lower half into release, fields the ball to side, shows ability to adjust to hop, works to an over the top release, will get uphill at release on throws. Also pitched, longer arm action through the back with similar high release, works out of the stretch, leg lift just up past the belt. Fastball topped out at 76 mph early, mostly true in life, short stride down the mound with some effort, shows short life when down in the zone. Mixed a curveball with 10-4 shape up to 62 mph. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; limited shift through lower half. Handsy stroke and short through the zone, keeps hands inside the ball, works to all fields. Shows accuracy with the barrel, bat speed will continue to improve with added strength. Good student.
