2021 Spring Atlantic Coast Showcase
Nicholas Mosley is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Fuquay Varina, NC who attends Fuquay-Varina. Posted an 8.37 in the 60 yard dash. Primary pitcher, the right hander topped the fastball out at 76 mph and flashed an arching breaking ball he's showing some developing feel for. Worked from the stretch only with high hands, medium leg lift with a slight paused at the top and falling action to the plate opening the frontside early. Releases at a low 3/4 arm slot, fastball showed good arm side life. In the infield, has young tendencies with the footwork and throws. Has some feel for the mechanics, very casual action with low short burst use. Makes the glove work, his throws were uphill and tailing off the bag. Fits the part at 3B, will advance his tools in leaps with progressing athleticism and strength. Right hander hitter, starts open with a high hand set. Loose barrel swing with some loop in the path and a lot of wrist control. Timing mechanism has not been established yet, mostly late and missing the barrel. Has some moving pieces to connect to continue to compete at high levels. Excellent student.
