Anthony Montez is a 2025 SS/RHP, 3B, MIF, OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Vail, AZ who attends Cienega. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 6.93 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with clean glove work, funnels the ball well and works into a quick arm stroke, has some carry across the diamond and athleticism in actions. Works on top of throws from the outfield, sound footwork with carry on throws, showed confidence in actions. Also pitched, full hands over head delivery, high leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside with slight gather; effort at release, shows arm quickness, tends to stride open with lower half coming down mound. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, occasional cut from release, higher slot; simpler mechanics from the stretch, showed depth to curveball with 12-6 shape and can mix more often into repertoire. Right-handed hitter, begins with a medium hand set in the box and utilizes a subtle leg lift for timing at the plate. Has strength in hands and repeatedly showed it in game with extra-base hits to all parts of the field, able to drive the outer half pitch the other way. Looks to elevate at point of contact, can get uphill at times, stays short to the ball and incorporates strength well. Plays hard. Very good student. Named to the 14u Southwest Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
