2021 Northern California Prospect Showcase
Myles Brand is a 2025 RHP/C, 2B, 3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Lodi, CA who attends St. Mary's. Medium frame, long, athletic and lean, young strength showing. 7.34 60-yd. Showed a variety of skills including as a Catcher/Infielder and Pitcher with advanced talents for his age. As a catcher worked with high hips on pops from a quick exchange and the arm strength matched with accuracy on the bag. Release and arm accuracy stood out. As an infielder showed strong strides able to flow laterally in space and work behind the baseball. Glove and feet stayed in time and were able to make throws from multiple slots. The upside is available to play multiple infield positions. As a pitcher, utilized a high set with a high front knee having arm depth out of the glove. The body has a small sit as he stays inline down the hill. The arm is fluid to its high-3/4 release and the front leg stiffens up to allow him to work out over it to the catcher. The fastball (up to 81 MPH) was able to work the top of the zone with firm action. The curveball had darting vertical depth and the change-up sold the arm speed well for the small bottom and sink armside. Upside in overall skillset.
