Ira Rootman is a 2027 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-4 105 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Chaminade College Preparatory. He ran a 8.17 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a young frame. In the outfield he works under control to the baseball fielding it and transitioning into a crow hop with young arm strength as the arm action is long through the back. On the mound he worked from the stretch only with young mechanics hitting his balance point a falling down the mound into a stiff front side, the fastball was 60-61 mph from a high three-quarters slot, showed a straight changeup as his secondary offering in the upper 50's with similar arm speed. Right-handed hitter, starts very narrow and strides into contact with a weight shift forward, the barrel matches plane when he gets on time with a longer path creating some linear contact off the barrel. Excellent student.
