2023 Summer Northeast Workout Showcase (Thur)
Andrew Benitez is a 2026 OF/1B with a 6-2 178 lb. frame from Lawrenceville, NJ who attends Colegio Padre Fortin. Benitez works from an athletic build with evident strength proportioned nicely throughout. As a primary OF, he showcased clean defensive actions with reliable glove work and solid arm strength up to 85 mph. He successfully kept throws low and on line with additional projection on the way. Offensively, the righty started from an open stance with a compact hand set, flashing a simple and repeatable stroke with big time power potential to the pull side of the field. He flashed effortless bat speed through the zone with leverage created, posting an exit velo of 91 mph. The stroke for Benitez was consistent and controlled and will almost certainly translate in game. Ran a 7.15 sixty yard dash. Named to Top Prospect List.
