Matteo Espinosa is a 2022 2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Sacramento, CA who attends Jesuit. Medium frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill out. Ran a 7.37 second 60-yard dash. Primary second baseman, shows quick feet to the ball, works through it well with good momentum towards the bag, fields it squarely out front with clean glove actions transferring to shows from a low arm slot that plays from the second base position. Right-handed hitter, sets up with high hands and a high back elbow, deploys a contact-oriented approach working short to the ball with some looseness in the wrists and whip to the barrel; finds the barrel at a good rate generating contact to all fields that will improve with added strength. Very good student.
