2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Thomas Barone is a 2024 C/2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Selden, NY who attends Newfield. Compact frame with some lean muscle throughout and room to add strength. Primary catcher that received from a slightly side-saddled stance with some softness to his hands and segmented actions out of the crouch. Displayed lower, fairly direct midline transfer and gained ground towards his target. Produced accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 62 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open base with a high, tight hand set hanging trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to generate bat speed. Contact oriented stroke with some developing feel for the barrel. Mostly pullside contact with occasional line drives through the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
