2023 Sophomore National Showcase (2026 Grads)
Takashi Rutherford is a 2026 OF/RHP with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from San Juan Capistrano, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. Lean athletic build with good lower half strength and tons of physical projection remaining. 6.79 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has very fluid actions through the ball, long and loose arm action with plenty of carry on his throws, makes accurate throws, athleticism shines through. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a big barrel tilt load, has some length but barrel whip as well, lots of bat speed, stays sequenced well, big power projection. Took a turn on the mound, pitched to contact with a fastball heavy diet, has clean mechanics and throws strikes from a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph to go with a big breaking 12/6 curveball. High ceiling athlete. Good student.
