Michael Phelan is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX who attends Monsignor Kelly. Smaller frame with a very lean build. Ran a 7.37 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, plays behind the ball and has some quickness laterally, good hands and feel for adjusting to hops, limited arm strength but able to drop slot and will improve throws with added strength. Also pitches, stretch only and a loose release, sinks the fastball some arm side up to 74 mph, able to get to both halves form low slot, showed softer breaking ball from same slot with shape and depth to project on. Righthanded hitter, swing it hard and works to whip the barrel, developing bat speed and strength as a whole, contact-oriented approach with bat to ball and strength will improve the results. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
