2021 Puerto Rico Workout Showcase
Waldemar Edgardo Caro is a 2022 SS/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Aguada, PR who attends CBBA. Recorded a 6.72 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with plenty of athleticism and twitch along with room to fill out. Primary shortstop who rounds the ball well and takes good angles to the ball. Soft hands to the backhand with a clean arm stroke. Three-quarters arm slot with good body control on the charge with throws recorded up to 84 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance, small stride forward, and balanced start. Hands start low and takes an inside path to contact. Hover leg lift with some bat speed and lots of strength at contact. Needs to repeat more consistently but has impressive hitting tools and power potential.
