Diego Martinez is a 2025 RHP/C, SS with a 5-5 155 lb. frame from Pacoima, CA. Young, broad shouldered build with some present strength and additional room to develop moving forward. Ran an 8.04 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, side step moving into delivery with a high leg lift up past belt, loads weight onto backside during gather; short arm action through backside and hides well while working to a three-quarters release point. Can incorporate additional lower half into drive, fastball topped out at 74 mph and worked around the zone. Mixed a curveball with some present feel, short shape with tight rotation up to 66 mph. Low set behind the plate in set up, receives the ball out front, subtle lower half used in release, tight release from ear with a quick transfer, accurate throws to second base. Similar arm action on throws across the infield, shorter strides moving towards the ball, accurate throws to first base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a big stride moving into contact. Creates some present bat speed through the zone and gets the barrel to the ball, occasionally opens front side early. Shows nice carry off the barrel when squared and on time, strength in hands and shows comfort creating lift at point of contact.
