Elijah Romero is a 2027 C/RHP/UT with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Harlan. Long and lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.90 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, developing fundamentals in his footwork and exchange, has some raw arm strength, athletic enough to improve with repetitions. Also worked out in the infield and outfield but profiles best behind the plate. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced stance with a rock back and in load, still hand start, uphill swing plane, can develop more rhythm into his swing, showed some hand quickness in the games with a couple of barrels. Also pitched, works from a simple delivery with a short stride out front, high front side, worked downhill well and repeated his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 75 mph with good angle on it. Slider was his out pitch, got some spin on it with good lateral depth and created lots of swing and miss. Slowed his arm on a soft change up. Will keep improving in all areas as he gets stronger.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
