Brian Downing is a 2023 3B/IF, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Hudson, MA who attends Lawrence Academy. Recorded a 7.27-second 60-yard dash time. Physical, athletic build with present strength in his lower half. Primary corner infielder, developing fluidity throughout fielding funnel with some quickness in his hands. Displayed some present arm strength with throws up to 79 mph across the diamond. Flashed some athleticism coming in on the charge play. Secondary right-handed pitcher, repeated his operation well as he commanded the zone with a developing two-pitch mix. Short arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot, worked his fastball up to 78 mph as he ranged 74-78. Continuing to refine his feel for his curveball that displayed 12-6 shape. Right-handed hitter, narrow, slightly open stance set up with a high-hand set and high back elbow. Leg-lift trigger to initiate operation with compact bat speed. Sprayed the ball throughout his round of BP. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
