John (JT) Shaffer is a 2022 OF/UT with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Tyngsboro, MA who attends Tyngsborough. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, utilizes a short crow hop moving into release with energy through the ball, physical strength throughout, short and compact arm action through the backside with some carry to intended base. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open and bent knee stance; keeps hands inside the ball and stays pretty short through the zone. Opens front side early to point of contact, shows the ability to barrel the ball the other way with occasional lift to path, can implement additional extension out front. Very good student.
