Alex Pierce is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Sterling Heights, MI who attends Adlai Stevenson. Extra big and strong well proportioned build for his age. Primary right handed pitcher, uses his strong lower half well in his mechanics, drives down the mound hard with a long stride out front, maintains good direction, arm was consistently on time from a high 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well with a compact on-line arm action. Fastball worked consistently in the upper 70's and touched 80 mph, maintained his velocity very well, works low in the zone consistently with some late sinking action. Change up was a quality second pitch with nice arm speed and nice feel for the strike zone. Still developing feel for his slider and spinning the ball, this will be the next step in his development as the body, mechanics and arm strength all work for him. Right handed hitter, similar lower half mechanics to his mound work with a big lower half shift in, swing is pretty short and simple, swings hard and can drive the ball to the pull side gap when he stays back in his swing. 7.99 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman who is solid at that position and may be athletic enough to play third base in the future as well. Good student. Named to the 13U/14U Ohio Valley Top Prospect List.
