2021 PG Softball Beta Combine #2
Kiley Collins is a 5’8, class of 2026, IF/OF from West Liberty, IA who will attend West Liberty HS. A long, graceful athletic presence with a sinewy musculature, Kiley is strong and shows developing twitch that should allow for her to make marked advancement as her career continues. She ran an advanced 3.01 20 yard/60 foot dash and an even more sterling 4.90 shuttle run. Kiley took a turn in the OF, and although this is not her natural position, showed she has the skill to play there. She utilizes a measured, but certain approach to position and field. She uses a two-handed infield-like fielding action and moves to and through transition well. Her arm strength plays, and her throws are consistently accurate. On the infield, Kiley has the look of a corner infielder. Her footwork is solid, and she appears confident in and with her movement. She reads the ball off the bat well and her glovework is smooth and consistent. She shows playable arm strength, and her throws are consistently accurate. Kiley’s big plus tool is her ability on offense. She’ll maybe never be asked to bunt, or to bunt very much, but she can handle the bat. Her upside lies in her ability to power the softball. She has long levers and knows how to use them to drive the ball. She has a power hitter’s approach – a flatter path with pronounced lift at contact. She gets her barrel to and through contact and the ball jumps and travels. There won’t be too many parks that will be able to hold her power. Kiley is a “HITTER” and she’ll use that gift to carry her to the next level. With added strength and continued work on her craft, there will be numerous D-I schools calling on her. (cjm)
