Matthew Brandt is a 2025 OF/RHP/IF with a 5-6 170 lb. frame from Mountain View, CA who attends Los Altos. Young athlete developing his agility and strength in the field. Primary outfielder, lack of quick reactions transitions to slower actions. Soft approach with a long gather loses momentum through and creates an uphill release on the throw. Has an idea of where he should be showing some present field awareness, but has some fundamentals to break down. Late show and getting into position to receive with limited range in the infield, plays pretty high generating stabs at the back handed play. Some present glove work to the glove side on routine plays, will compliment his tools as his lateral movement and arm strength start to improve. Left handed hitter, starts squared with a high back elbow. Stays short and tight through the ball, cuts some barrel path off not getting extended, will fix itself as barrel control increases with strength. Some solid connections to the middle and pull-side. Great student.
