Lucas Hernandez is a 2024 1B/OF with a 5-10 205 lb. frame from Massapequa Park, NY who attends Massapequa. Medium, strong looking frame with room to physically mature. Primary first baseman with a fundamentally defensive skill set. Showed a clean funnel out in-front, works through the baseball with proper footwork and has some agility around the bag. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wider, even based stance with a tight hand set and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates strong lower half to create some torque and displayed some present bat speed. lofted stroke with pullside intent, some feel for the barrel and strength at impact when on-time. Will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically. Solid defensive skills with offensive upside. Excellent Student.
