Jacob Davis is a 2024 2B/RHP, SS, OF with a 5-9 115 lb. frame from Gardnerville, NV who attends Douglas. Recorded a 7.88 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame and slender build with plenty of room to fill. Primary second baseman with segmented footwork and actions, has an idea of the fundamentals needed, developing strength and urgency in the actions at present. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a semi-windup delivery. High ¾ arm slot with average arm speed. Simple operation, repeats well. Could use lower half more to get down mound. Fastball sat 68-70 mph with slight armside run. Throws strikes often. Lacks velocity or movement to miss barrel consistently. Needs to refine command. Curveball sat 60-62 mph with big, loopy 12-6 break. Lacked bite but movement made it tough to barrel. Flashed changeup in warmups but did not use in game. Breaking ball shape is intriguing but needs more bite to be effective. Left-handed hitter with a high back elbow set, short hand path with a slight upper cut swing plane. High intent swinger with some flashes of hand quickness. Mostly opposite and mid field approach, has some jump off the barrel when he makes contact out front, will improve impact potential as he gets stronger. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
