Degan Williams is a 2027 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Beckley, WV who attends Greater Beckley Christian School. Outstanding young athletic build, has present strength and projects very well physically. Primary first baseman on defense, has nice defensive actions there, comes to the ball well with good balance and footwork, glove work is smooth and confident, plenty of arm for the position. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a well balanced swing approach and a simple hand trigger, works inside the ball with a left center field orientation, didn't show the ability to turn the barrel but could develop plenty of power when he does. Also pitched and showed plenty of potential there, works from the stretch with a long off-line loose arm slot and an extended 3/4's release point. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly straight. Curveball showed lots of potential with 2200+ spin rates and big depth at times. Good athlete who will keep improving with repetitions on both sides of the ball.
