2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Joey Vaughan is a 2022 C/1B, 3B, OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Gig Harbor, WA who attends Bellarmine Preparatory. He has a good frame with present strength and room to add more yet. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.07 seconds. Primary catcher that has a low stance and works off one knee. He throws with a long arm action and from a high release point. He made consistent accurate throws that one hopped the base. Secondary outfielder that sits back on the ball and throws with the same actions that he did from behind the plate. Showed good accuracy in the outfield as well. Right-handed hitter that has a narrow base and an upright stance. He as a rotational swing and takes his hands directly to the ball. He showed nice hand quickness and was able to consistently hit line drives the other way. Excellent student.
