Blake Benfante is a 2024 RHP/UT with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Joseph by the Sea. Thicker build and strong lower-half that provides advantages on both sides of the baseball. The primary right-handed pitcher worked only from the stretch, started in the middle of the rubber, hands remained at the chest, leg lift to the stomach, well-balanced load, broke into a deep, slightly offline and stabby arm path that works over-the-top. Fastball sat in the mid-seventies, topping at 77 mph with some cutting action. Curveball offered a little bit of vertical depth and remained in the mid-sixties. Right-handed hitter, started in a bent-knee stance with a toe-tap trigger, came out with a lower hand start, impacted baseballs with tons of intent, several line drives to all parts of the field during his round, showcasing gap-to-gap power when on time. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 4.28 thirty-yard dash. Great student.
