Asa Swanson is a 2027 SS/MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Scotts Valley, CA who attends Scotts Valley HS. Features a medium frame with a compact build. Ran an 8.02 60-yd dash. In the INF, exhibited solid fundamental actions. Waits back at times but gets the body into quality posture with good hands that fielded GBs clean right at him and to the forehand side. Developing feel for his actions to the backhand side. Arm works shorter out the glove with a slight stab in the back. Showed avg. arm strength across. At the plate, he sits in a balanced athletic base. Gets started early using a mix of a larger leg lift trigger and toe tap. Hands stay pretty neutral with a flatter barrel at launch. Bat works on a more direct path to and through the zone. Trouble with deeper contact points but showed some decent impact out front.
