2022 Sophomore National Showcase (2025 Grads)
Thomas O'Connell is a 2025 C/IF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Harwinton, CT who attends Lewis S. Mills. Broad shouldered young build with plenty of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a closed stance, creates torque through his lower half and hits from the ground up, short line drive swing with fast hands, gets good jump off the barrel, was well timed in the games and squared the ball up consistently. 7.10 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up low and flexible behind the plate, comes out of his crouch well and has loose and fast hips, compact arm action and release. Also worked out in the outfield and showed his athleticism well, kind of athlete who can play all over the field effectively. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Virginia.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
