William Dalton is a 2023 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Garden Grove, CA who attends Mater Dei. Lean build with some athleticism, ran a 7.95 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed some young tendencies but good feel for the position. Loose actions, the glove skills are present and arm strength will continue to develop as physicality matures. Decent footwork, gets in the right spot on time. Learning some body control, front side falls off target leaving some arm lag and slows momentum down a bit playing through the ball, generating some uphill throws. Flashed some clean actions at 1B, has a good glove and quick arm, played with some more bounce in the infield. Also a left-handed pitcher, high waisted build will grow more effective as physicality matures. Simple operation with repeatable mechanics, short lift and drive lower half landing on a soft stride. Gets to a short 3/4 slot, the fastball was up to 74 mph with some downhill intent. Breaking ball held loose spin, learning some command for the secondary offerings. Left-handed hitter, showed a simple trigger leaving some force on the backside. Had a good round utilizing all fields, there is some bat speed and barrel control at present and will complement filling out the frame and developing some lower half strength. Good student.
