Paul Montoya is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 5-7 156 lb. frame from Walnut, CA who attends Walnut. Compact build with some present strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a crouched stance with a calm hand load and aggressive swing approach, creates some bat speed with a line drive swing plane, ball comes off the barrel well. 7.70 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, fields the ball cleanly out front, developing arm strength. Took a turn on the mound, has a compact arm stroke with a high 3/4's arm slot, gets over his front side well and gets downhill. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, did a good job throwing fastball strikes. Mixed in an occasional big and slow curveball. Bat is his best present tool.
