Jose Partida is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends La Jolla Country Day. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable frame with lots of room to fill. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, nice rhythm to operation throughout, moves down the mound well with loose arm stroke in the back, works to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, shorter arm action through the back, showed nice command of the heater to arm side and maintained velocity well throughout. Landed curveball for strikes up to 73 mph, flashed a mid-70s changeup. Filled the zone, showed pitchability and projects well. Charges ball well in the outfield and fields it out front, clean gather with loose arm, works through the ball, higher slot and shows accuracy to the intended base. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow with a wide base in the box. Leg lift trigger for timing, handsy stroke and shows comfort driving the ball to the pull side, stays shorter through the zone. Very good student. Named to the 2023 14u Perfect Game Select Festival.
