Andrew Gload is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Silver Spring, MD who attends James Hubert Blake. Recorded a 7.31-second 60-yard dash time. Extra-large, athletic build with well-proportioned strength throughout his frame. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple operation that he repeats well. Uses his long levers to drive down the mound, creating some deception against the hitter. 3/4 arm slot, creating late sinking action on his fastball, working it on both sides of the plate. Commanded the zone with a quality two-pitch mix, landing his curveball for strikes in various counts. Worked his fastball up to 82 mph, sitting in the low-80's with more velocity left in the tank with some minor mechanical changes in his operation. Secondary third baseman, fields out in front with some stiffness throughout his actions. Plays through the ball, up to 79 mph across the diamond. Deliberate foot work with range going to his backhand, could improve flexibility and foot speed to improve athleticism. Right-handed hitter, narrow, upright stance with a high-hand set. Showcased a heavy barrel with gap-to-gap power that carried over into gameplay. Strong hands generating a lot of bat speed, at times swing had a tendency to get long. Excellent student. Named to Coastal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
