2023 Carolina Top Prospect Games (Tues-Wed)
Ryan Edwards is a 2027 RHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Greenville, NC who attends D H Conley. Medium frame with lean current build and plenty of space to add physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.30 seconds. Primary position RHP, working from the full windup from the middle of the rubber. Gets good explosiveness from his core and stays around the zone with his full compliment of pitches. Nice cadence to his delivery, holds hands stationary at the letters and works into a deep inline path and accelerates through an over the top arm path. Fastball peaks at 81 mph with some ride for his age and locates it well. Curveball in the upper-60s with gradual break and some depth, workable changeup that shows solid deception. Has a feel for what he's doing on the bump. Secondary OF, sitting back a bit and using choppy steps to prepare to field. Works the glove out front nicely to deep midline transfer. Full arm path here to with a bit of fade at the end as he peaked at 82 mph. RHH working from a narrow stance and upright posture. High handset and small leg lift as he slides to his front side. Really turns the core and lets the hands eat as he generates nice barrel speed. Ball gets off his barrel pretty loudly. Pull oriented approach but has the look of a hitter longterm. Intriguing two-way skill set for sure.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
