2004 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Daniel is a 2005 grad from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana California and stands 5'11" 165 pounds. He has been a regular at Perfect Game/WWBA and other high level events for some time. We've grown to really appreciate his talent and his approach to the game. In the field, Daniel has athletic actions with sure quick hands and a very strong ++arm that will enable him to go deep in the hole to make a play. In fact, Daniel's 92 mph arm strength at the West Coast Top Prospect was one of the best infield arms we've seen all year and it came from a short, quick game type release. Some scouts will look at Daniel's 60 times (7.2) and worry but he has very quick feet and a very good first step on defense. He has a good approach at the plate, makes aggressive and quality contact to drive the ball to all fields and he does it often. He has top of the line up ability and will drive runs in as well. Daniel has committed to Long Beach State and will attract plenty of attention this spring from the professional scouting community as. He's an outstanding baseball player.
