Gavin Pelow is a 2027 C/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Kannapolis, NC who attends Concord Academy. A taller frame with some physicality showing in his frame. Ran a 7.3 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who has a lower setup in the crouch. Overall he stayed pretty short with compact actions coming out of the crouch and throwing down to second. The arm was accurate down to second with throws that were around the bag. He threw 68 mph down to second and produced a 2.04 pop time. He's a right-handed hitter with good size and some physicality to his presence in the box with higher-set hands and a high back elbow. He turns it over well, getting the foot down and opening the hips thru contact. He produced plenty of line drives to the middle of the field. Showed some good impact to the middle of the field as he got into a groove with the swing. Produced an 80 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who side steps into the wind-up, lifting the leg to work into his move down the mound. He throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot and has a longer arm stroke thru release. The fastball worked up to 78 mph with some angle to it, running arm-side. He was able to locate in the outer third in the arm-side part of the zone. Heavy barrage of fastballs during his outing. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
