KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Jerzey Hanna is a 5'3, class of 2025 3B/RHP from Kansas City, KS who attends Turner HS. Jerzey is a rising young player who shows a developing skill that should, with continued work at her skill set, allow her the opportunity to play at the next level. She ran a 3.78 20-yard dash with a 1.18 5-yard split. A primary infielder, Jerzey has an ability that is based on sound fundamental execution. She makes this look a lot easier than it is. She reads the ball off the bat well and her quicker feet allows her to position well. Her glove is sure and soft and she transitions quite easily to a 58-mph arm. Her powerful throws are firm and highly accurate. Nice round! Jerzey also threw a solid bullpen session. Her arm operation is consistent and she explodes off of the pitcher's plate. Her fastball is firm and well-commanded. Because her operation is so consistent, advanced level velo will get there as she physically matures and adds strength. Her change up is thrown with FB arm action which adds to deception. CH has both down action and a little glove side break to it. Drop is also thrown with FB arm action and shows depth and decent spin. Curveball is a still developing pitch that is thrown with a sound spin. Small break is there and will improve as she adds strength and refines her game from the circle. Solid idea from the circle that is certain to make a big jump as she continues in her career. At the plate, Jerzey shows solid operation that is at a fairly advanced point of development right now. She is balanced and fairly open at the ready. Big leg lift trigger and really fires her lower half. Obviously strong! Has a middle-of-field to opposite field mentality and lets the ball get a little deeper so this can happen. Her flat path and ability to impact make her offensive approach something that can and will play at the next level. Jerzey has a solid plan concerning her game. She is a player who is just scratching the surface with a talent that will only improve as she moves up the ladder. Big upside promise! High ceiling! Her energy and obvious passion, coupled with her talent says Jerzey will have a outstanding opportunity to play beyond HS.
