2007 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Christopher Norton is a 2009 C/3B/1B with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Ruskin, FL who attends East Bay HS. He has a well proportioned athletic build and some present strength. Norton has very good arm strength, better than he shows throwing behind the plate. He is a classic pole vaulter with a very stiff front leg when he throws. Norton still threw 75 mph with a best pop time of 2.14 during drills. He looked to have pretty good receiving skills in the games. Offensively. Norton hits from a spread stance with a leg lift trigger. He keeps his weight back and turns on balls aggressively and quickly. Norton has good bat speed and the ball jumps pretty hard. It looks like he has a hitter's mentality, too. Norton ran the bases very aggressively and plays faster than his 7.36 speed. He's a good overall athlete and ball player who should keep improving. Norton is also a good student.
