2021 South Prospect Showcase
Jace Thorpe is a 2025 RHP/1B/IF with a 6-2 162 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Prosper. Long and slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. High 3/4's to over the top arm action, drifting delivery with a deep arm action in back, some hesitation in back with his arm creates timing inconsistency, works downhill with his pitches. Fastball topped out at 77 mph early, mostly worked in the low 70's, mostly straight. Threw both a curveball and a slider, the slider was the much better pitch this outing and is a pitch he could use more, tends to slow his arm on his curveball. Key to development will be getting more consistent in his mechanics. 7.39 runner in the sixty, showed good soft hands on defense in the infield and made plays cleanly, third base tools on defense. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a deep hand load, throws his hips into his swing, showed good barrel control with a line drive up the middle approach.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
